Our Story

Life is never easy for students. From attending lectures at college and coaching classes to managing internships and exams, the to-do list is never-ending. At such time, nothing can be more helpful than a set of simple and easy-to-understand notes that students can refer and learn quickly, without the hassle of going through bulky text-books. Surprisingly, as students, we observed that the existing players in the market were not meeting this basic requirement.

In 2012, we decided to solve this problem and founded Lazy Bone Publications. All we wanted to do was provide short and simple books for students who were studying in Degree College, pursuing professional courses like CA and CS. Soon, what started out with books on two subjects of F.Y.B.Com expanded to a wide range of books on various subjects for Std. 9th, 10th, 11th (Commerce), 12th (Commerce) and T.Y.B.Com. We have a robust client list of about 600+ institutes and touch the lives of 50,000+ students every year. Our books, priced reasonably to provide access to many, have sold about 5,00,000+ copies till date.

In line with the mobile-friendly generation, we have also launched Quill – The Padhai App, under Lazy Bone Innovations Pvt. Ltd. The app, a brainchild of Alekh Huddar, Hardik Navdhare and Hardik Somaiya, is a first-of-its-kind app for the students of commerce stream in Maharashtra. It allows users to read, revise and take tests for every subject in an interactive manner, exactly how students of today like it.

What helped us understand the pulse of the generation is the fact that we ourselves have sailed in the same ship. Both Alekh Huddar & Hardik Navdhare are chartered accountants and went through the rigmarole of balancing studies and articleship. Hardik Somaiya is a typical engineering student, for whom photocopying notes from a friend the night before exams is the norm, simply because books are expensive and not easily available. He wishes to solve this and every other problem with the help of technology.

Like any startup, we too faced several hurdles in the past. These included errors in printing, delays in delivery and fledgling back-end. There was a danger of upsetting clients and losing the customer base. However, these never deterred us from following our goal – of creating user-friendly notes for students.

We began reinventing and revamping our entire production process to create a seamless experience for our clients. Over time, we have put in place a robust network of academicians to work on our content. Faculties from leading colleges help us define our notes better and we work with hand-writers to create exclusive, handwritten notes for you.

Why Handwritten

Yes, you read that right! We are the first Indian startup to create handwritten notes. Apart from differentiating our notes, the handwritten format also increases reading speed, gives a personalised touch and more importantly reduces boredom of reading theory. These handwritten notes have become the USP of our company. We also provide test series & audio-visual presentations, which help our institutional clients enhance the learning experiences of their students.
